Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 9, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information Webcontra collects, how it is used, and what rights you have over your data.

1. Who We Are

Webcontra is a Website-as-a-Service platform. We build and manage websites for small and growing businesses on a subscription basis.

For questions about this policy, contact us at hello@webcontra.io.

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information only when we genuinely need it to deliver our services.

When you submit a Get Started or lead capture form, we collect:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Company name
  • Any message or notes you choose to include

When you complete an onboarding brief (RFI), we additionally collect:

  • Industry and business description
  • Website goals and target audience
  • Design preferences and inspiration references
  • Existing domain or branding details
  • Budget range and timeline

When you use the Webcontra CMS to manage your website content, we collect:

  • Content edits and updates you make
  • Login credentials (stored securely as hashed passwords)
  • Session activity for security purposes

Automatically collected information:

  • Basic analytics data (page visits, referral source) — used only to improve the service
  • IP address and browser type for security and fraud prevention

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your enquiry and progress your project
  • Build, launch, and maintain your website
  • Send you transactional emails related to your project (briefs, previews, go-live notifications)
  • Provide you with access to the CMS tool to manage your content
  • Communicate changes to your subscription, pricing, or service
  • Improve the Webcontra platform and client experience

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not send unsolicited marketing emails.

4. Transactional Emails

As part of delivering the service, Webcontra sends automated transactional emails at key stages of your project lifecycle. These include:

  • Confirmation that your enquiry was received
  • Your onboarding brief link
  • Design direction options for your review
  • Your website preview link
  • Your site go-live notification and CMS login setup
  • Change request updates

These emails are a core part of the service and cannot be opted out of while you are an active client. You may unsubscribe from any non-essential communications at any time.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and access controls. We use Supabase (a managed Postgres database platform) for data storage, and Supabase Storage for files and assets.

We retain your data for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period thereafter in case of disputes or requests. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8).

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own purposes.

We work with a small number of trusted service providers to deliver the Webcontra platform:

We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Webcontra, our clients, or others.

7. Cookies

Our marketing site uses minimal cookies — only those necessary for the site to function. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

The client platform (app.webcontra.co) uses a secure session cookie to authenticate your CMS login. This cookie is httpOnly and scoped to your subdomain — it cannot be read by third-party scripts.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Delete your personal data (subject to any legal retention requirements)
  • Port your data to another provider
